About SOC

In 1995, the 74th Texas legislative session mandated the establishment of a statewide resource center, the Statewide Outreach Center (SOC) at Texas School for the Deaf (TSD), for the improvement of educational outcomes for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in Texas. The center’s operating base is on the Texas School for the Deaf campus from which services and resources are disseminated to students, their families and the professionals who support them around the state.
