Parent Support

Many parents find that talking to other parents offers support and information in a more personal way. Having parenting support while raising def and hard-of-hearing children is a critical component to a positive journey. Find other parents at one of the options below:

The Care Coordination team is made up of parents of deaf and hard-of-hearing children. They provide resources and referrals to parents of babies and infants between Birth-3 years old. And if needed, a place for talking and listening. Contact the Care Coordination team today.

 

Some deaf mentors are parents of deaf and hard-of-hearing children. Mentors come alongside you and the entire family, providing support and tips for the everyday things.

Texas Hands & Voices (TXH&V) is the state chapter of a national parent-driven organization dedicated to providing unbiased support to families and their children who are deaf or hard of hearing as well as the professionals who serve them. Texas Guide By Your Side: is a Hands & Voices program providing direct support to families through Parent Guides and Deaf or Hard of Hearing Guides. Offered through a partnership with the Statewide Outreach Center at Texas School for the Deaf.

 

Texas Parent 2 Parent Support (TxP2P): Though not specifically for parents of deaf and hard of hearing children, this organization may be helpful to those whose children have additional special needs. TxP2P is committed to improving the lives of Texas children who have disabilities, chronic illness, and/or special health care needs.
