Best Practices in Early Intervention Series

Four workshops are available for Teachers of the Deaf, Teachers of the Visually Impaired, and Teachers of the Deafblind, and certified orientation and mobility specialists working with ECI.  Services to families of children, ages birth to 3, with sensory differences including deaf, hard of hearing, blind, visually impaired, and deafblind are coordinated between Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) and the school district where the child lives. Other professionals working in early intervention are also welcome to attend.

Summer 2025: Communication Skills Workshop

Communication Skills Workshop provides professional training for Interpreters Certified & Non-Certified Interpreters working in a K-12 setting in Texas, Interpreter-Aides, ASL Teachers, Deaf Education Teachers, and Parents of deaf or hard of hearing children in Texas.

Texas SPED Support is TEA’s online technical assistance portal of training and resources for administrators, educators, and support staff working with students who receive special education services. Specifically for those who work with deaf and hard of hearing students, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing page

 Region 13 S.E.E. Center provides training and support for families and professionals who want to learn or improve their Signing Exact English skills. ESSE training and testing for state certification of Educational Interpreter is available through the S.E.E. center.

The Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center at Gallaudet University is a federally funded center tasked with developing and disseminating innovative curricula, instructional techniques, and products nationwide while providing information, training, and technical assistance for parents and professionals to meet the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students from birth to age 21. Resources and trainings are available in the professional section.

Enrich your STEM knowledge and create a STEM rich environment in your school with STEM-related training. The National Technical Institute for the Deaf’s Regional STEM Center (NRSC), in Alabama, offers teacher-focused workshops. Educational professionals can request specific STEM- topics for workshops.
