Family Signs

Family Signs is an online sign language instruction program for families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing (birth through 21 years old). Interactive classes are provided in the comfort of your own home in American Sign Language or Signed Exact English.  Spanish-speaking instructors are available. Classes are 30 minutes each week and offered in the fall and spring semesters (up to 4 semesters per household).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Classes happen online via videoconferencing applications such as Zoom or Skype. Families and instructors are expected to have computers with webcams and high-speed Internet. Email and web access is needed for communication between families and instructors.

This program is available for Texas residents. Deaf and hard of hearing children (ages birth to 21 years old), their parents or guardians can participate. Other family members of deaf and hard of hearing children will be considered.

There is no cost to the family.
