June 7-9, 2019 was a memorable weekend in Austin for families with deaf and hard of hearing children hosted by the Educational Resource Center on Deafness at Texas School for the Deaf. Families in Texas came together to meet each other as well as deaf and hard of hearing adults and professionals who work with deaf and hard of hearing children. Throughout the weekend parents/caregivers and other adult family members attended educational workshops while the children and youth attended activities in a camp-like atmosphere with supervision by qualified staff.
Here is what families had to say about their FWR 2019 experience:
“There is so much offered. It was an extraordinary experience for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥"
“Very helpful thank everyone. Seminars are informative and motivating. I have more resources for this stage of my sons who are HH.”
“ This weekend was very encouraging and a great resource for our family."
