Mark your calendars for June 7-9, 2019. This will be a memorable weekend in Austin for families with deaf and hard of hearing children hosted by the Educational Resource Center on Deafness at Texas School for the Deaf. Texas families are welcome to join us to meet other families, deaf and hard of hearing adults, and professionals who work with deaf and hard of hearing children. Throughout the weekend parents/caregivers and other adult family members will attend educational workshops while the children and youth attend activities in a camp-like atmosphere with supervision by qualified staff.
Registration will open in February, 2019, so be sure to check back for more information.
NOTE: Parents with students ages 3-21 years enrolled at TSD may register for the adult workshops, but childcare and lodging are not available. Families with student(s) ages birth-36 months enrolled in TSD-PIP are eligible for adult workshops and childcare.
Here is what families had to say about their FWR 2018 experience:
“I am very appreciative of this retreat. This was our first time and never did I think I could find so much information and so many people in my same situation. And everything was excellent, and my entire family returned home full of joy and so much learning. Thanks for everything and we hope to see you next year"
“This was an amazing, educational, eye opening weekend”
“ Always a great time! Fun, informative, networking and forming relationships. My kids LOVE it!”
